Choose Earthsong.

The Deck Family Farm is a wonderful, warm, welcoming place! They have hosted Earthsong Farm School and Camp programs for their own children, neighbors and town folk for nearly two decades! This year we are adding seasonal Homeschool Support Sessions to our menu! We hope to provide social and supplemental subject support to families primarily providing academics for their children at home. Earthsong best serves elementary aged children in grades 1-5 (ages 6-11). Siblings of different ages are always considered.

Earthsong Farm School understands that each homeschool family dreams of educating their children according to their own ideals, covering academics at their children’s pace. Quality, supplemental support classes with like-minded families enrich this academic homeschool experience! Earthsong Homeschool Support Sessions provide rhythmical structure, nurturing the feeling life of each child through developmentally appropriate, hands-on, practical and artistic activity. A fully trained, certified and experienced Waldorf teacher provides classes including watercolor painting, knitting, needle craft, food processing and animal husbandry. Our philosophy supports the education of the whole child through activity that nurtures their head, heart and hands. In addition, Earthsong Homeschool Support Sessions provide programing to lift and balance at home academic learning with social, community building activities such as choral singing, recorder ensemble, movement games, dramatic arts and festivals!

During the summer and breaks from school, children flourish in wide-open spaces and free play surrounded by nature! Farm Camp children spend the the day outside in the fields, in the forest, and in the barns participating in farm activities, including caring for the farm animals, primitive skills crafting, building forts, and wandering the 320 acres of exceptionally lovely land.  We incorporate farm chores, animal husbandry, and projects into our daily routine.  Each day we stroll through fields to visit the various animals or down the lane to explore the woods, waterways and the diverse offerings of this beautiful working farm.  Summer/ seasonal farm stories, snacks, games, water play and crafting fill out our experience rich day.

The farm is always changing. Our daily experience is influenced by the fickle weather as well as the animals present and skills and specializations of the interns on the farm each season. Photos from previous farm camps from 2012-2025 can be found in the gallery through the navigation bar at the top of the page. We constantly find new opportunities for work and play. Each year is a fresh experience! One season's adventure is never quite the same as the next!

“My kids are in a farm camp this week at a local farm run by a Waldorf family. They raise chickens, turkeys, goats pigs and have CSA’s for both meat and cows and goats dairy. My 10-year-old son, who has become obsessed with sports and has been clamoring for more and more media, is the only boy his age among about 10 kids age 5-14.

The camp is run by a Waldorf teacher. They spend their days exploring the farm. They learn to milk goats and make cheese. They eat ice cubes flavored with mint or berries that grow on the farm. They collect eggs and hold baby chicks. Sometimes they find that some chicks have not made it and they learn a bit more about the cycle of life. They watched the shearing of the sheep, play with the dogs and pet the horses.

He has been excited each morning to go to camp and tired, but very content, at the end of each day. No media, no wild buddies, no coaches... just time with nature and animals at a very relaxing pace. It is a great reminder to me of how little he actually needs. Thank you Heather Kidd and Ella Ewing (Ella Deck) for giving this precious gift to my children!"
